The MN@ Team regularly review chatrooms and if yours has been chosen to be Featured on the Chat page, it's because you've impressed the MN@ with the way that it is running by providing friendly support and assistance for the community, and generally being an example of excellence in terms of what we'd like to see more of on the chat network.
We've chosen four chatrooms to be featured for the month of March and we hope that you check them out.
The purpose of #Aposhack is to promote fractal artistry and to share knowledge and techniques with one another. (Apophysis is a freeware fractal flame editor for Windows.)
"Many of us have our heart and soul exposed in our art, the learning curve can be steep at times, we have all been beginners and our members are encouraged to remember that and try to help 'noobs' wherever possible. We often share params and play Apopong, a game where params are bashed back and forth. We have 'heroes', people who we regard as geniuses in the field, and if one of them comes up with a new style we try to work out how they did it..."
#HChat's goal is to be a place for the Hispanic artists of deviantART.
"We want them to share their experience with the ones that are just starting in the community. One of the things that we were looking for when we created the chatroom is that people actually have fun so we try to keep always a moderator or founder that will always keep alive the room, avoiding boring and alonetimes. Every deviant, no matter where do they come from, is invited to the chatroom, only thing is, they must know Spanish. Sometimes people enter the room being quiet and trying to learn, and that. Plus their personal lessons, is a very good practice if you want to learn the language."
"We offer the possibility to show your thumbs, where everyone shows their works; we also organize criticism nights, the artists receive constructive criticism about their art. One of the events that our members love is the Art Jam: We choose a theme, and all the deviants have to make a quick draw in MSPaint and post it in the chat, then we choose a winner and finally we show off all the paintings in a news article. The goal of this is to have fun and make the deviants known, even in a fun way."
"The Hispanic Day 2009 is coming soon; it is a celebration of the Hispanic community on deviantART for the pride of being part of the community, and interacting with the rest of the artistic world through the site. #HChat will be the chatroom selected by the Hispanic Day Organizers to host some of the events that will happen during the event, all the participant works will be shown and we'll be also doing interviews with the coordinators and winners."
#UKart is a chatroom for deviants from England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland to express themselves and have fun.
"All that we ask is that your respectful of those around you. We welcome deviants from all over with open arms to come join in the fun. Our last event was a traditional english pub quiz which was a complete success - the only downside was not being able to sell beer on the internet Lol."
"We currently don't have anything planned as yet but watch this space."
#Twitter is for anyone who wants anything to do with Twitter.com. They help deviants link their deviantArt accounts to Twitter using the badass new module.
"We give assistance on any Twitter-related questions, and think of interesting things to tweet. Members can connect with each other and network between themselves. We'll occasionally update the room's topic with an idea to tweet about, and if it tickles your fancy, then you've got 140 characters to elaborate. Some of our users also discuss Twitter applications available online and which they find the most useful."
"Eventually, if we get enough members in the room, I'd love to have a contest to design a Twitter layout based on deviantArt themes."
