When Does the Game Begin?

The Game will begin on Wednesday, August 3rd, 3PM PST (Your local time here).

You won't be able to join the chatroom until then, but now is the time to learn how to play!

How To Play

You begin by joining the #BirthdayBash chatroom and "inviting" someone to your VIP Party by typing:

!invite username

Now that you've invited them, you must get them to come to the party!  You do this by getting them to join the #BirthdayBash chatroom!

(If they are already in a chatroom you can do this by telling them to type "/join birthdaybash".  If they aren't in a chatroom already, you can tell them to click on the #BirthdayBash link above or in the list of chatrooms here)

If they join the #BirthdayBash chatroom, the invitation will be successful, and they will become part of your VIP Party.  At that point, they can start playing too and help to build the size of your party.

You can invite up to 3 people at a time.

When one invite is successful (the person has joined your party), you can reuse that invitation.

If the person you invite doesn't join the #BirthdayBash chatroom within 24 hours, your invitation is lost in the mail (You can then send another one).

How to Gain Party Points

It's important to keep your Party Members interested in the Party Zone because it affects how many points you can earn:

For every person that you successfully invite to your Party, you gain 10 Party Points. After that, for each day that they visit the Party Zone you will gain one additional point - the Party Zone encompasses all chatrooms on the Chat Network.

If someone you've invited is away from the Party Zone for 48 hours or more, you lose the 10 Party Points and no longer gain the additional point per day for them.

Note: As long as a party member is in any chatroom on the chat network, they are within the Party Zone.

The Prizes

Grand Prize: 4000 Points, a 1 year Premium Membership,  plus some special 11th Birthday goodies!

Subsidiary Prizes: 2000 Points, a 3 month Premium Membership,  plus some special 11th Birthday goodies!


The Grand Prize will be awarded to the leading scorer in the biggest and best Party (highest scoring Party).

The subsidiary prizes will be awarded to the leading scorer in each of the other Parties.

The game will end August 7'th  at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time.

Although you will not be able to !invite anyone after the game ends, the game will continue for 48 hours before the winners are announced. During this time, you may lose points if someone you've successfully invited is away from the Party Zone for 48 hours or more.

Steal Attempts

As you get better at inviting people to your party, you will gain the ability to Steal other people's invitations. For every 3 people you successfully invite, you will be rewarded with a chance to Steal an invitation. With this steal attempt, you can try to change the invitation to be for your party instead.

If the steal is successful, you get the points when the person joins the room and they become part of your Party instead.

If you have a Steal attempt, you can try using it by typing:

!steal username

Where "username" is the name of the person who has been invited.

Sneak Ability

As you get better at stealing invitations you will gain the ability to sneak members from one party to another - this is the most powerful ability the Party Zone has ever seen. For every 3 successful steal attempts you will receive 1 chance to Sneak.

Using this command can be very strategic since when a member is snuck from one party to another, all of their points go with them to the other party (this can have a direct impact on who wins the prizes).

If you have a sneak attempt, you can try to use it by typing:

!sneak username party

Where "username" is the person you want to attempt to sneak and "party" is the party you want to sneak them to ("Unicorns", "Mudkips", "Llamas", "Ninjas", and "Furries").

Example:

Getting Updates on your Game

To get information about your Party Points and events that have happened to you in the game, you can type:

!status

This will tell you how many points you currently have, how many invites are available to you, and any steal or sneak attempts you have. It will also show you recent events that have impacted your game. For example, it will tell you when an invite is successful, if someone has stolen a invitation of yours, or if a member you've invited has been away from the Party Zone for more than 48 hours.

Miscellaneous Commands

!cancel username - will cancel an invitation you've sent that hasn't been successful yet (use this to get an invite back where you've changed your mind).

!invitations - will list the people you've currently sent invitations to but who haven't joined the #BirthdayBash chatroom yet (ie, haven't joined your party yet).

!invited - will list the people you've successfully invited into your party and who have been active in the Party Zone in the past 48 hours.

!parties - will list the Parties in order of largest (top scoring party)

!llamas - will list the 5 top scorers in the Llama Party.
!unicorns - will list the 5 top scorers in the Unicorn Party.
!mudkips - will list the 5 top scorers in the Mudkip Party.
!ninjas - will list the 5 top scorers in the Ninja Party.
!furries - will list the 5 top scorers in the Furry Party.

Rules

Avoid spamming other chatrooms.
All interaction with other deviants with respect to the game must adhere to deviantART policies and etiquette.
The use of alternate accounts or any other method to cheat is strictly prohibited.
Any user that is found not to be abiding by the rules will be evicted from the game immediately.
