Artist's Comments

I was driving and saw this fox running along the side of the road. I've never seen a fox carrying prey before, so I grabbed my camera and drove along-side it for a couple of minutes while shooting out the driver's side window. I don't condone this sort of dangerous driving act, but I couldn't help myself at the time.

Image is cropped (only had 18-70mm with me).


It's been suggested that I amend the description of how this photo came to be...

My boyfriend correctly points out that:

1. He first spotted the fox on the road,
2. I only saw it after he loudly exclaimed (and I paraphrase here) ":wtf::wtf:SLOW DOWN YOU'RE GOING TO RUN OVER THAT FOX!!!:wtf::wtf:".
3. We spent the next 1/2 hour tracking the fox as he wanted to put him in the backseat and take him home. :D

Actually, I think it's a very good shot! Since the fox's head ended up in focus, and the rest is motion blurred...makes it look like he's urgently trying to get home and eat. ^^;

I think its a sweet shot. Question, do you like the Nikon D70? I see that you have it, and I'm in the process of deciding between the canon digital rebel xt and nikon d70. If you have any thoughts, I'd appreciate it!

Wow, it's really sad to hear that you will be taking this shot down. It may not be perfect, but very few photographers can capture such high-action scenes this well, I love it.

Going to be really blunt but Crap... IT is an wonderful photo. Technically perfect photos tend to be boring and overly engineered. The focus on the face is good and the motion in the rest of the pic lends a really sense of motion. possibly adjust the contrast or saturation but then again that could just be my monitor (I'm at work on a desktop)

Dont scrap it!
